Oh, wait. That’s right. Feminism. 

But God forbid any man would want to be a feminist! That would be just be an abomination! It’s just.. Too girly! Hahaha! Only a pussy would call himself a feminist, right guys?

And for the argument that men are being turned away from the feminist community for being men- well, sorry, but if someone is uncomfortable with the idea that their oppressor wants to pretend he can identify with and understand what this type of oppression feels like, who the hell could blame them? Maybe you should consider that for a lot of people, the feminist community is an area of sanctity- people want to feel safe and heard- and this does not normally happen in male-dominated society. No one is personally targeting you or your sex. And is it really that offensive that someone suggests you simply become an ally? 

And, of course, this is definitely not the case with most feminists (at least the one’s I’ve encountered!), because feminism is no longer just for women’s rights- it’s for equality- which is for everyone!

I guarantee you, folks, that feminists do not want to be more important than you, or shut you up, or whine about being treated unfairly while demanding you to pay for the all the food on dates at the same time- because that’s not what feminism is.

Feminism is, and I cannot stress this enough, about equality.

Look at the name.

It’s a woman’s rights movement.

Made up of women.

It is based on the premise that women are oppressed and men aren’t.

Many feminist agree with that.

You are one of them.

Many feminists intentionally exclude men.

Many feminists unintentionally exclude men by failing to actually understand they they suffer too (and no, not from your calling out, from the patriarchy).

They fail to address their privilege, cannot understand men’s issues, and therefore cannot effectively fight for true equality.

Some feminists are better than that. But most aren’t.

There are an awful lot of men who want equality, but feminists often derail them and suppress them and ignore them and mock them, like you’re doing now, and so they need a movement that actually treats them with respect.

It is, of course, possible to be a masculist and a feminist. That’s men’s rights and women’s rights, doesn’t meet the same problems with privilege, and is generally and beautifully egalitarian.

So if in your defence of feminism (which I would otherwise support) you are attacking masculism, you are a hypocrite.

You see it and it makes you cry with rage just at the concept.

But when men are told every day by the much more powerful feminist movement that they should all be treated as rapists and that their suffering doesn’t exist, and they decide that the movement isn’t for them? Well then they are obviously stupid.

No hypocrisy there then.

Oh and if you think that men are the cause of all sexism, and that women are the sufferers of all sexism, you don’t understand the issues in the first place. No wonder most men don’t want you leading the charge to sort those issues out. You have no idea what you’re doing.
